Any person wishing to file for the Everton School District Board of Education may do so in the Everton School District Administration Office, 509 E. School Street, Everton, MO 65646, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, through Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
The final day for filing will be Tuesday, December 28 2021, between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. An election for three seats on the board will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022. Two seats carry a three-year term and one seat carries a one-year term.
The office will be closed on Monday, December 6 and 13 and December 22-27th. No filings will be accepted when the office is closed due to holidays, inclement weather or in the event of a closure due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Any person interested in serving on the Everton School District R-III School Board of Education will meet the following requirements:
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be a resident taxpayer of the Everton School District.
  • Have resided in Missouri for a minimum of one (1) year preceding their election.
  • Be at least 24 years of age.
  • Must not be delinquent in the payment of state income taxes, personal property taxes or real property taxes on their place of residence. If an applicant is a past or present corporate officer of any fee office, that office cannot be delinquent in the payment of any taxes owed the state.
  • Have not been found guilty of nor pled guilty to a felony under the federal laws of the United States of America or to a felony under Missouri law or an offense committed in another state that would be considered a felony in Missouri.
  • Not be registered or required to be registered as a sex offender.
  • Have filed, or the treasurer of an existing candidate committee has filed, all required campaign disclosure reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission, when applicable for all previous elections in which they were candidates.
Under the provisions of Missouri Statute Section 115.124, if the number of candidates who file is equal to the number of positions to be filled by the election (three), no election will be held. However, if the number of candidates filing exceeds the number of positions, the annual school board election will be held on April 5, 2022.
